Tales of meeting real Fairies

A collection of tales describing real encounters of meeting fairieswhat a real fairy very much looks like

Is it a Fairy or is it a Faerie?

My first encounter with a fairy was just off the local popular bridal way near where I used to live in County Durham between Rolands Gill and Medomsley. I had a period when I would jog about a mile or so up the track in an attempt to get fit. Often however, I never made the mile as I would either be dragged into the wood by some fun nature spirits wanting to play or by Herne to be led to some interesting energy areas. On one such occasion I was led through the undergrowth until I emerged by a stream. There was a small overhanging tree on the other side which seemed to have some sort of being sitting in its central branches about two meters from the ground.

How big are fairies and do they carry wands?

As I got closer it resolved into a white creature holding a long stick type thing which actually twinkled at one end – sorry but I just could not handle that this could be a magic wand. What really confused me was that it seemed quite big (about two feet tall (60cm)) and seemed eh! somewhat overweight. As I believed that fairys were very small – say no more than six inches tall (15cm) and slim this encounter caused me slight confusion. As did the fact that it actually seemed to have some sort of magic wand. Communication went something along the lines of;

‘Are you a fairy?’ – ‘Yes I’m a fairy’ – ‘Eh!! – Are you sure?’ – ‘YES‘ ‘Aren’t you eh!! . . . too eh . . . big? . . for a fairy? . . . ‘ – ‘!$$??£‘ ‘ . . . and is that a magic wand? . . . . . ‘

I don’t think she was impressed with this exchange; she went a little sulky. So, a fat over sized fairy stretched my boundaries about fairies. She seemed to be lonely and wanted to keep to herself. I never asked if she could cast spells with her wand.

Confusing encounters with fairies continue

So, that was my first encounter a mite confusing and this unfortunately continued with the next encounter too . . . . So, while at Bellingham in Northumberland on another walk I spotted a figure sitting in a similar looking tree (they do seem to have a preference for a tree that has an open branched area part way up to ‘lounge’ in). However as this Being was about four feet tall and male and wearing green (green!!) it was very definitely not impressed with my chat (Well I some how thought that faerys were only female and green was for pixies?).

‘Hey – are you a fairy?’ – ‘Yes’ ‘Well how come your wearing green like a pixie?’ – ‘!$$??£‘ ‘Hey . . . . Eh!! . . . are you male?’ ‘I thought fairies were only female?’ . . . . . . . ‘NO!!! – I AM A MALE FAIRY

Female and Male fae sightings

I could just imagine him thinking – don’t humans know anything – what is this guy on? At a certain point during my encounters I realized that what I was seeing, was only what they wanted me to see with respect to my understanding. I realized that different people would see the same Being differently and that what they saw would be representative of their own background, understanding and expectations.

So, with this in mind the next time that I was out in the woods and felt the presence of a fairy it was my wish to see this being as itpicture of an etheric fairy - more what they really look like actually was rather than how it chose to presented itself to me. This was somewhere north of Rothbury outside a small place called Callaly if I recall correctly.

Seeing a Fairy as she REALLY is

The result was that I saw a large amorphous white cloud over a group of trees, this cloud is in reality what a fairy really is to a fairy – an intelligent energy form. As I tuned into a this cloud it coalesced and flowed down becoming more concentrated and eventually presented itself in front of me in the form of the fairy-tale fairy (much like the picture on the right). She was very beautiful and was quite amused with our encounter. I felt privileged to be in her presence, to see her as she really was and then to see her as she chooses to be recognized. It seems like my wish came true.

When you are accessing other realms to see or sense whatever is presented to you, there is always some feedback system at work. The beings you are accessing may have some ability to control their presentation; nature spirits do this.

For example the main nature spirit energy form Pan I have seen in two different forms and in one of he has so far presented himself between 2 meters tall and 30 meters.

The other factor is yourself, your past experiences and your engrained beliefs and ideas, these will ‘warp’ the interpretation of what you are presented with too.

What do fairies really look like

Well it follows from the above that it’s going to be very hard to be definitive. I have tried with the pictures above to edit and ‘play’ with them to more accurately depict the underlying energies. Some pictures that I really like because they present much more of the ‘flavour or taste’ of this realm follow;

Who believes in the fae and do they really exist?

There is a an attitude amongst dimensionally challenged scientists that people will simply ‘imagine’ or ‘create’ in their minds what they believe. This is a fairly obvious assumption from a group of people whose training in part is about staying distanced from personal experience, feeling, imagination and even intuition while striving to be ‘logical’ and ‘rational’ and ‘observant’.

This attitude and orientation actually prevents people from properly and deeply engaging with their own internal processes, feelings and landscape. If you fully engage with your internal states; your feeling states, mind states and processes, intuition, imagination, senses, dream states and spend time consciously in them then you will become familiar enough from repeated experiential ‘experience’ with your own internal workings to know their boundaries and limits and therefore have no problem telling the inner internal from the inner external (like I do).

I am sensitive enough to my feelings and emotions for example to know the differences between feelings arising spontaneously in this moment or whether they are ‘reactive’ feelings being provoked in response to a past trauma or block. I even know the subtle differences that tell me that a feeling originates not in this life’s but in a past life.

The above exchange with fairies confirms that what I ‘believed’ or more accurately what I knew about fairies did not result in my internal memory or ‘belief’ states confirming this.

What is belief? When is a belief a ‘belief’?

I have trouble with the ‘B’ word, in terms of how people define what is a ‘belief’. You could say that belief exists when ‘repeated’ experience is lacking. Repeated experience of seeing nature spirits, fairies for example takes a person out of the realm of belief and into something else.

In this respect I ‘believe’ in Centaur’s, because I myself have not seen one BUT I have heard of others whom have.

For me it’s highly likely that just about EVERYTHING that has been consigned to ‘myth’ or ‘legend’ relates to peoples experiences of getting in touch with other dimensional realities that are somehow intersecting with this one in other times when a ’stupid & superstitious’ rationality was less prevalent. As a species, humans are progressively disengaging from ‘feelings’ and subtle sensory states while barricading ourselves into a severely limited mind.

From the above I have to be adamant that I ‘DON’T’ believe in fairies, in the same way as I don’t have to ‘believe’ in the seat I’m sitting on now for me to sit on it. I have interacted with ‘fairies’ for quite a long time. Quite simply these ‘people’ exist, and they are some what much more friendly than many ‘rational’ types even when you bother them with stupid questions.

What to do NOW?

Some people coming here want to get in touch with Fairies themselves. I have a page HERE to help YOU connect with and encounter fairies or any nature spirits, so go there and read this and on that page is a link to another page to help you become more aware of these beings too.

Anyone want to make a fairy house? Then have a look at this page HERE. (this will open this site in a new window so you can still read what is here). On this fairy house page below the picture there is a link called ‘rules’ which takes you to a page of rules on making a fairy house. Also on the first page on the right click on the picture below where it says “How to build your own Fair House” for details of doing this or click HERE to get this page to open in a new window too. Have fun.

What is your ‘experience’?

In the mean time how many of you reading this have interesting tales of your own? Have you seen a fairy or another nature spirit type?If you have then tell us about it below! Don’t be shy?

What do YOU have to SAY about what I write here?

What are your experiences? Can you relate to what is written here? We would appreciate you share your experiences because staying quite only reinforces the impression that such encounters are rare (I suspect they are not). So, don't be shy . . . . .

Yes fairies are real. I saw one and it was the most beautiful thing i’ve ever seen. I was around 12. It was enough for me to get a fairy tattoo now that im 21. Still remember that day like it was yesterday.

    • Lisa A, says:

I saw one too over a year ago– after a prayer asking God would let me meet one –hoping they were real. Well they are real, and was 45 when I saw one face to face. She didnt look totally human yet she was very beautiful. Her eyes were totally dark chocolate brown- no irises, yet they were beautiful- not scary . She had high brow bones and a delicate nose nd chin, and high cheekbones. She also had soft light cocoa brown skin and I didnt expect that either as I am not African. She looked very regal actually. Regal as well as innocent and gentle. She also looked totally not what I expected a faery to look like because I am used to seeing feery illustrations of human children faeries from storybooks.

Clive discovered correctly that there are also male faeries as well as female faeries.
Artists always portray the female ones because I think artists just love to paint the female form in general anyway– so the male faeries get ignored.

  14. MistfulRosie says:

all of you ppl are totally making everything up. sickening…

    • Clive says:

MistFulRosie, how bigoted you are. I cannot speak for others that have written here but I can and will for myself. All that I write of my own experiences here are as I state, there is nothing made up or embellished. As a research scientist by profession trained in critical observation then I’ve critically observed and described what I have found myself. Have you listened to any of the ‘audio’s’ presented here some of these are of people on different continents over the phone simultaneously and interactively dealing with what is encountered multidimensionally. These unfortunately for yourself are NOT made up either. The little modality called science decided about 200 years ago to have as one of it’s basic assumptions that there is ONLY a physical reality. And just like yourself even when people describe things that say that this assumption is false, a fantasy you still cannot ‘listen’ can you? CAN YOU?

    • Lisa A, says:

Ha!! I would have thought so to until May 31, 2008. Never say Never.

    • Veronique says:

I’m sorry you’ve not had your own fairy/faery encounter but until you open your heart to believe you won’t be able to either I have seen faeries and played with them on several occasions I have also encountered brownies pixies and hobgoblins once. Fairies are very playful and love for you to swing them they will play for hours if you play with them and love to swing on strings small chains cord and if you sprinkly some silk flowers they will pick them up with the chain/string as you hold it and swing them wildly around I have never spoken to one or heard one but have played with them for many hours am am thankful and blessed to know and believe. sincerely Veronique

    • Nina says:

I used to believe that fairies, dwarves, elves, and most especially ghosts, are NOT real. Or rather, I thought these beings were fictitious only because the adults around me said so. I ended up branding those who believe in them as ’superstitious/folksy.’ Still, I’d sometimes wish these beings exist.

As I grew up, I kept hearing stories of ghost/spirit encounters from some friends. I could tell that they were not joking. I figured that these beings may be real to ’sensitive’ ones. But their encounters often scared them, so I resolved not to open my third eye so that they won’t bother me any more.

I was totally wrong. Eventually I realized (Since working with Clive) that ‘beings’ are always around whether I like it or not, that shutting them off from my reality won’t make any difference at all.

This site has opened me to the possibility that not all ’spirit’ encounters are terrifying. So much for the misconceptions I get from horror films and ghost stories.

Hopefully when I become less scared of ‘being’ encounters, I get to see/feel the presence of fairies and nature spirits.

  15. Tracy says:

once my brother and I were standing out on our parents front porch and we were laughing and having fun when we suddenly got this big idea to start saying green winnies the second we did that we heard a cracking sound come from a bush below us and not two seconds later a green flying creature no bigger than my forearm flew into our faces with a killer look on its face. later i appologized to the creature for being rude although i could not see it i knew it was there. the very next morning when i went to get into my truck which was always locked and windos up, i found on my seat one of those airplane things you get from a tree (i dont know what they are called) i didnt understand then what it meant or how it got there but now i think it was trying to communicate with me. as strange as it sounds ive never truelly believed in much of anything until i seen it with my own eyes and so did my brother and we werent drunk or on drugs of any kind, this was real and completely random. that was 4 or 5 years ago. I’ve tried to talk to them and get them to come out but i never get an answer all i get is a chill up my spine like some one is watching me. I’ve been trying to find my path because i feel lost and unsure of myself. I want to hear and see all the beauties of the world i just dont know how to tap into that world. I figured i could go into the woods and listen but my mind races with so many thoughts i cant focus on blocking them out.

  16. jordan says:

Hi I’m back!I was on a holiday.Tracy is the airplane thing a Mapel seed.I have that tree in my front yard.

  17. jordan says:

    MistfulRosie…
I would like you to prove that we making everything up and that we are sickening. Type fairies on you tube and there is plenty proof there and on this site. So go find someone else and call them a liar. I don’t want be mean but different people have different beliefs and abilities.

  18. Nina says:

Jordan, can you give me a few sample Youtube links where I can see these ‘proofs’ about fairies? I’ve typed ‘fairy’ and ‘fairies’ on Youtube and the results are too broad. I’ve gotten girls dressed as fairies, the Sugar Plum fairy, Tinkerbell, fairy tales, and other pop culture media with the word ‘fairy’ or ‘fairies’. There must be a way to narrow down my search for these ‘real fairy’ videos else I get bogged down with confusion…

    • jordan says:

Sample: Real Fairies, Fairy Caught on camera, Fairy Caught on tape. That should get you a couple of real videos of them. I also hate how the dress up as them. They look nothing like fairies!

  19. John Triplow says:

Hey Guys – My name’s John and I’m a paranormal researcher from Northumberland. I’m currently working on a book manuscript, which centers upon the dark-side of paranormal phenomena across Northumberland; in particular, elemental spirits, goblins, brownies.. etc

I would love to hear some first hand accounts regarding these subjects! Please feel free to drop me an email

    Kind Regards – John Triplow

    • Clive says:

Hi John, there are quite a few posts from times in Northumberland here. What sort of dark-side things were you thinking about?

      • John Triplow says:

Hey Clive – I’m looking for terrifying encounters with anything believed not to exist! I would be very grateful if you could point me in the direction of people who have had these type of experiences.

        Peace – John Triplow

  20. Navneeta Ray says:

Hi everyone I m back too, how r u all doin ? hey JORDAN & CLIVE how r u guys ? hw was ur christmas vaccation ? 21. Wendy Peterson says:

Decades ago, during a time when I was thinking much about fairies and fairy mythology I saw – late at night or early in the morning – what looked like a very faint outline of light that surrounded several small figures that were zig-zagging around a plot plant in my bedroom that was placed near an open window. That has been my only fairy/elemental sighting, although I’d love to have more.
Btw, not all religous people are against the fairy realm. I’m also an avid Pentacostal, but I think fairies, or elementals, are simply the guiding forces of the natural world…rather like humans have guiding angels.

  22. jordan says:

HI Navneeta It’s summer here.I live in the driest state in the the driest contenent so the fairies are gettin it tough.Tomorrow its 40 degrees celcius. But apart from that there good.Schools going back next week.Happy new year and merry christmas.that Sounds like a pillywiggen. They come around at the start spring and there wings beat as fast as a dragon fly.Wendy I also believe that there like gardian angels.P.S.Navneeta sorry I havent said merry christmas just I havent talked to you for ages.

  23. Full Moon says:

Ive just turned 13 and ive always loved fairies. Ive never encounterd on before and i would love to. Would someone please give me some advise on how to attract one, it will be spring soon so maby that could help (:

  24. Full Moon says:

Also, what type pf crystals do fairies like?
    i collect them

  25. josh says:

hi, I think I saw one long time ago, about 2 inches tall with green long hair but talks in whispers and in unknown language, it was night, full moon and on our garden near the ferns and walking backwards slowly to the pots of plants while talking with eye contact to me and my sister (we were two witnesses). Do you think it’s a fairy or something else

    • Clive says:

Sounds like a type of nature spirit BUT I’ve not seen one like this myself – Jordan might know about these . .

    • jordan says:

Hi Josh.I think What your Talking about is a Dryad. They Protect a tree wich keeps the dryad Alive. If the Tree is cut down the dryad.Dryads are allways female and can predict the future. Are Either you or your sister a believer in the Fey?It may have come to ask for help.Have you seen it Since? If Not it Probably died. Not to worry there pretty commom. They can Very in Size from one inch to human size so it’s hard to understand wich fairy it is.It Could be a flower fairy Due to it’s height and descrption or a pillywiggin but a pillywiggin looks more like a bug.Yes Clive I have seen one.I did’nt know what type fairy it was until I got a book and it match the desciption of what I saw but is slightly differant description from Josh.

  26. jordan says:

Hi Fairies love all gemstones.I collect them to!Build a fairy house to attract them. And put some berries, flowers, lollies and warm milk and if you want to leave a note.Hope it Helps!JORDAN.
    P.S.They somtimes leave money.

  27. Full Moon says:

cool, i have loads of gem stones.
    Thanxz
i will make them a house.
I live in Scotland so i think there will be a chance i will meet a Brownie, i hope…
    Bye x

  28. Nina says:

    Jordan,

So if a tree is cut down, the dryad who lives in it dies too? But you say dryads are common? Where do you live? Maybe there are dryads in my country but they are called by a different name, or they are entirely different kind of fairy/nature spirit.

I still get dizzy with the terms used to describe these beings because I’m not familiar with ‘Western’ folklore/myths/stories about fairies, dragons, nature spirits, etc.

Do fairies and dryads live in rainforests and tropical jungles too? Right now the fairies you mention tend to remind me of temperate areas in Europe/America/Canada instead of Asian countries.

  29. jordan says:

Nearly everytree is guarded by a Dryad. I live Australia. Dryads have different names but I know their mostly called dryads.

  30. Bronte Chambers says:

I know faries are really for a fact i have my own

  31. kay says:

Can fairies shapeshift at all? There’s something on the far side of supernatural hanging around my school. I don’t know if it’s malicious or not, but knowing what it is will help me. Can fairies change their shape?

    • Clive says:

Hi Kay, I’d imagine some could but it would be very unusual. This feels more like an elemental energy connected to someone at school and it’s ‘protective’ of them.

  32. jordan says:

yes what clive said. Some of them can.

  33. Mama says:

I’m a bit nervous about posting my “encounter”. I am a 49 year old, perfectly sane woman. I say that because it might appear to some that I may be a bit off my rocker! I assure you I am not. I’d like to begin by stating that since I was a child I was enchanted with the natural world, feeling more at home in the woods and fields than any other place. I used to talk to the trees and flowers in the forest and always felt some sort of presence while I played alone among the oaks, pines and wild flowers of my Midwestern home. I have always believed in the little people. I never saw them (until now) but somehow, I just knew they were real. When I was 8 I saw what I thought was an angel-so supernatural encounters were not new to me. This past weekend my husband and I stayed at an ocean-side cottage on the small tropical island where we now live. One late afternoon I decided to take a walk around the area. As I drew near a certain part of the path I was on I began to feel an almost electric feeling…and the hair on my arms literally stood on end. I looked over to my left into the jungle because it seemed like that is where the energy was coming from. There was a patch of brilliant green sword grass growing under some trees…and in the patch of grass was…something…many of them..they were emerald green and had long rather “misty” looking “bodies”. I couldn’t really make out arms and legs but they did have faces that were almost human looking with tan ’skin”. they were making very high pitched noises that sounded like they were calling to me. They floated above the ground and sort of undulated- kind of like grass blowing in the breeze. I had this urge to go there..but for some reason I kept walking. My mother-in-law told me a story about seeing the little people here. She was a stern woman and NEVER made stories up. My children were playing in a field near our home and she called to me and told me to call the children away from that place. She told me that when she was little her father owned the entire plot of land (a large plot) and grew sugar cane on it. She used to come with him and his workers. She would play while the men worked. One day she wandered too far into the sugar cane field. She was about to turn around and leave when she saw the “cutest little people”. She said they came to her and tugged her dress and giggled and laughed and played with her…she was actually lost for two whole days and nights but it only seemed like a few hours to her…she was lost in the area my children were playing. Fairy encounters are not new here on the island. but I am wondering-what was it I saw? Thank you for your time…”mama”

    • Clive says:

Great ‘encounter’ and yea sounds like a ‘different’ set of ‘little’ people but living in a more organised way. That you are on an island away from ‘civilisation’ to a certain extent would make sense to have such strong encounters.

I’ll be putting up another web site that will try and explain encounters such as these in a much larger and ‘logical’ context. It’s too complicated to try and explain this here at the present time.

  34. Mama says:

Thank you for your response! Yes- we are far away from civilization here – a chain of islands in the Philippine Sea about 120 miles north of Guam. Here the little people are called “Dwendes” and many inhabit trees. there is one tree here called the Taotaomoana (people from before) tree. This tree is a tangle of roots that grow above ground and a favorite habitat of Dwende. I wish I could have gotten my mother-in-law to record her encounter…the details she told me were fascinating. Knowing her personality (stern, rather mean and strict)I absolutely knew she was telling me the truth. Thanks for concurring that I’m not loony tunes.. :) .

  35. Nina says:

Mama, are you a Filipino (or do you have Filipino ancestry)? Where I live, “duwende” is a popular mythical creature. Many Filipinos (especially from the rural areas) believe they live in trees or ant/termite mounds. I’ve never seen one, but the more sensitive ones have seen them for real.

I did some research in Wikipedia and saw that the word “duende” exists in other cultures as well. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duende_%28mythology%29)

    • Mama says:

      Hi Nina,
No, I’m actually of German ancestry-but I live out here in the pacific islands.

    • danni says:

i wish i had a fairie friend…cos my friend keeps saying she has fairys in her garden so she started going on bot frairys at first i thought this was just a game but now im starting to wonder where i may find fairies or something

  36. Nina says:

Has anyone here ever encountered any fairies, nature spirits, or other beings who make their presence felt by giving off scents?

Just today I smelled some rose or floral perfume scent in my bedroom and bathroom. The maid did not spray any air freshener. Neither the maid or I wore any perfume or cologne. I asked the maid if she could smell what I was smelling, and she said no. I got scared with the encounter.

Then I remember how as a kid I sometimes smell something that others don’t smell. The others around me would say that I was just imagining things or I’d dismiss the scent myself because I could not trace its origins.

  37. danni says:

i wish i could actually have an encounter with fairys cos my friend says she had so the next day she was blabbing on about fairys….at first i thought it was fake or just a game or something but now i wonder where fairies come from and where i might find one!
