Is it a Fairy or is it a Faerie?
My first encounter with a fairy was just off the local popular bridal way near where I used to live in County Durham between Rolands Gill and Medomsley. I had a period when I would jog about a mile or so up the track in an attempt to get fit. Often however, I never made the mile as I would either be dragged into the wood by some fun nature spirits wanting to play or by Herne to be led to some interesting energy areas. On one such occasion I was led through the undergrowth until I emerged by a stream. There was a small overhanging tree on the other side which seemed to have some sort of being sitting in its central branches about two meters from the ground.
How big are fairies and do they carry wands?
As I got closer it resolved into a white creature holding a long stick type thing which actually twinkled at one end – sorry but I just could not handle that this could be a magic wand. What really confused me was that it seemed quite big (about two feet tall (60cm)) and seemed eh! somewhat overweight. As I believed that fairys were very small – say no more than six inches tall (15cm) and slim this encounter caused me slight confusion. As did the fact that it actually seemed to have some sort of magic wand. Communication went something along the lines of;
‘Are you a fairy?’ – ‘Yes I’m a fairy’ – ‘Eh!! – Are you sure?’ – ‘YES‘ ‘Aren’t you eh!! . . . too eh . . . big? . . for a fairy? . . . ‘ – ‘!$$??£‘ ‘ . . . and is that a magic wand? . . . . . ‘
I don’t think she was impressed with this exchange; she went a little sulky. So, a fat over sized fairy stretched my boundaries about fairies. She seemed to be lonely and wanted to keep to herself. I never asked if she could cast spells with her wand.
Confusing encounters with fairies continue
So, that was my first encounter a mite confusing and this unfortunately continued with the next encounter too . . . .
So, while at Bellingham in Northumberland on another walk I spotted a figure sitting in a similar looking tree (they do seem to have a preference for a tree that has an open branched area part way up to ‘lounge’ in). However as this Being was about four feet tall and male and wearing green (green!!) it was very definitely not impressed with my chat (Well I some how thought that faerys were only female and green was for pixies?).
‘Hey – are you a fairy?’ – ‘Yes’ ‘Well how come your wearing green like a pixie?’ – ‘!$$??£‘ ‘Hey . . . . Eh!! . . . are you male?’ ‘I thought fairies were only female?’ . . . . . . . ‘NO!!! – I AM A MALE FAIRY‘

I could just imagine him thinking – don’t humans know anything – what is this guy on? At a certain point during my encounters I realized that what I was seeing, was only what they wanted me to see with respect to my understanding. I realized that different people would see the same Being differently and that what they saw would be representative of their own background, understanding and expectations.
So, with this in mind the next time that I was out in the woods and felt the presence of a fairy it was my wish to see this being as it
actually was rather than how it chose to presented itself to me. This was somewhere north of Rothbury outside a small place called Callaly if I recall correctly.
Seeing a Fairy as she REALLY is
The result was that I saw a large amorphous white cloud over a group of trees, this cloud is in reality what a fairy really is to a fairy – an intelligent energy form. As I tuned into a this cloud it coalesced and flowed down becoming more concentrated and eventually presented itself in front of me in the form of the fairy-tale fairy (much like the picture on the right). She was very beautiful and was quite amused with our encounter. I felt privileged to be in her presence, to see her as she really was and then to see her as she chooses to be recognized. It seems like my wish came true.
When you are accessing other realms to see or sense whatever is presented to you, there is always some feedback system at work. The beings you are accessing may have some ability to control their presentation; nature spirits do this.
For example the main nature spirit energy form Pan I have seen in two different forms and in one of he has so far presented himself between 2 meters tall and 30 meters.
The other factor is yourself, your past experiences and your engrained beliefs and ideas, these will ‘warp’ the interpretation of what you are presented with too.
What do fairies really look like
Well it follows from the above that it’s going to be very hard to be definitive. I have tried with the pictures above to edit and ‘play’ with them to more accurately depict the underlying energies. Some pictures that I really like because they present much more of the ‘flavour or taste’ of this realm follow;

Who believes in the fae and do they really exist?
There is a an attitude amongst dimensionally challenged scientists that people will simply ‘imagine’ or ‘create’ in their minds what they believe. This is a fairly obvious assumption from a group of people whose training in part is about staying distanced from personal experience, feeling, imagination and even intuition while striving to be ‘logical’ and ‘rational’ and ‘observant’.
This attitude and orientation actually prevents people from properly and deeply engaging with their own internal processes, feelings and landscape. If you fully engage with your internal states; your feeling states, mind states and processes, intuition, imagination, senses, dream states and spend time consciously in them then you will become familiar enough from repeated experiential ‘experience’ with your own internal workings to know their boundaries and limits and therefore have no problem telling the inner internal from the inner external (like I do).
I am sensitive enough to my feelings and emotions for example to know the differences between feelings arising spontaneously in this moment or whether they are ‘reactive’ feelings being provoked in response to a past trauma or block. I even know the subtle differences that tell me that a feeling originates not in this life’s but in a past life.
The above exchange with fairies confirms that what I ‘believed’ or more accurately what I knew about fairies did not result in my internal memory or ‘belief’ states confirming this.
What is belief? When is a belief a ‘belief’?
I have trouble with the ‘B’ word, in terms of how people define what is a ‘belief’. You could say that belief exists when ‘repeated’ experience is lacking. Repeated experience of seeing nature spirits, fairies for example takes a person out of the realm of belief and into something else.
In this respect I ‘believe’ in Centaur’s, because I myself have not seen one BUT I have heard of others whom have.
For me it’s highly likely that just about EVERYTHING that has been consigned to ‘myth’ or ‘legend’ relates to peoples experiences of getting in touch with other dimensional realities that are somehow intersecting with this one in other times when a ‘stupid & superstitious’ rationality was less prevalent. As a species, humans are progressively disengaging from ‘feelings’ and subtle sensory states while barricading ourselves into a severely limited mind.
From the above I have to be adamant that I ‘DON’T’ believe in fairies, in the same way as I don’t have to ‘believe’ in the seat I’m sitting on now for me to sit on it. I have interacted with ‘fairies’ for quite a long time. Quite simply these ‘people’ exist, and they are some what much more friendly than many ‘rational’ types even when you bother them with stupid questions.

I think i was being watched by one once, looking for theas green spiky nuts, and they appeared where i was before on my second check again, then i heard giggling, it was odd . . . .
One time i was visiting my grandma and she lives in the back country we went to a forest near her house and we saw what looked like a giant red bee but it had human like features and a red dress . . .
That was interesting. I am doing a paper on fairies and their existance and it would be amazing to interview someone that has actually seen a real fairy.

I haven’t seen any Nature Spirits yet, but i look forward to having my grandson, who is 2 years old, having that experience.
Hi Ammi, No I have not heard of an audio of someone meeting pan. I am sure your grandson will have fun if he encounters some nature spirits. Kids tend to be more in touch than the rest of us.

I want to say that I NEVER believed fairies really existed until this May 31st. On the internet I met two wonderful Native American women who had experiences with the Fae .. One of the woman was even introduced to some little people by as a toddler by her grandmother.. a Navajo Elder of their tribe. She has a connection with them all her life.
Well after knowing these women, and me being a Christian, I felt I needed to pray and ask God to show me if it were true.. if they really did exist so that I could think “outside of the box” and not limit God on what religion tells me I’m supposed to believe, versus what HE wants to show me. I left it up to God to pick the time He would reveal a Fae to me.
Weeks went by.. then on May 31st, my family got into a huge argument which left me depressed. That following morning I was daydreaming, staring into my unkempt hair in the morning sun when I saw a small, shy light brown face peering up at me with compassion through a section of my hair!
She didnt seem to be that aware that I was staring at her in shock. She seemed very absorbed with Me.. focusing on my pain . Eventually she realized I was staring at her, and I noticed she had an expression like, “UH OH., she sees me” and then she disappeared, but I actually continued to feel her presence there with me.
I felt bad for gawking at her as I realized God had just answered my prayer and I saw one of the Nature Guardians! I leave food out for her now. I leave milk and honey and bread with butter ..
After my encounter I’ve been reading up every where about Fairies. Some things seem like folk tales about them, but there are a lot of things I feel in harmony with. This site is one of them.
Since my encounter I’ve been outside in Nature more than ever and try to do my part to help the Environment and pick up after other humans garbage and litter, and I made a fairy garden..,.now that I know now without a shadow of a doubt that they do, in fact, exist. God answered my prayer. I can’t share this with other Christians because the ones I know are not open to the possibility that the Fae exist and they are not ready to hear about it yet. maybe one day .. but it may be after they die before God will be able to show them.
The fae that I encountered did not look how I thought faes were supposed to look. I thought they would be like miniature Cicely Mary Barker flower fairie kids…lol!
The Fae I saw was very very beautiful .. she was not human., you could tell.. yet she was beautiful. She had wide set all dark brown eyes with no irises in them. Even though she had no irises, you could still see her feelings reflected from her eyes. Love and compassion for the pain I was going through.. Also there was an innocence on her face as well as a royalty and refinement. I think she may have been someone of some status amongst her kind. Yet , there was no arrogance in her face.
She also had high brow bones, high cheekbones, a high forehead and delicate nose and mouth.. I couldn’t tell if she had hair.. but it did appear as though she did and that it was pulled up off of her face. I can still see her face in my mind.
After her encounter I talk to the fae in my mind or out loud when none is around. I invite them in my home and yard and play CD music for them. I am a 45 year young woman who found out later in life that they exist, and it has changed my life forever .. and even has made me feel closer to God more than ever as well.

Hi Lisa, you seem to be enjoying yourself here, I normally only get a few comments posted in a month and today I wake up to 4 in one go. Glad you like the site. I would imagine that some will be convinced that these ‘little people’ are demons if your from a Christian background. They just seem like real nice ‘folk’ to me. Your obviously very sensitive to them.

Hi Clive! I found your site by searching for sites like this at Google.com. After my fae encounter, I’ve been going to Barnes&NOble, Amazon.com, and searching the internet all I can on these beings. It’s like a magical portal opened up for me and I want to read other’s encounters and learn more and be connected with them. I am not clairvoyant in the least. My third eye must need Laser surgery and I have spiritual Attention Deficit Disorder, so it’s a challenge for these Fae folks to get through to me, but they really have! … all starting from my initial encounter.

I have to say that I have never believed in Fairies until two nights ago. Actually, it was about 4:00 AM and I awoke to a startling sight. Right in front of me hovering was what appeared to be a Fairy!!! She was dressed in white and had white curly hair. She also had what appeared to be some type of wand. I was not afraid at all which surprised me. She was throwing this gold dust on me that sparkled brightly as it fell on my head. She was about two feet tall and was smiling real sweet. From what I’ve been reading on the net since most of the eye witnesses who will admit to these encounters are saying they are supposed to be very tiny. This is how I found this web site, I googled “two feet tall” and Fairy. I thought I was going nuts or something but then I realised that I have seen ghosts and such but I just never believed in Fairies…until now. I live in a metropolitan city in the Midwest. I was confused because it sounds like most of these encounters happen in wooded ares and out side. If any one out there knows what she was doing with the gold sparkly dust please let me know. I took it as a good omen but would appreciate more info on this.
Hi Lisa G, yea I got confused by the size thing too. I’ve had the occasional gold dust sparkly stuff also, but I’d not mentioned this as people think I’m mad enough anyway. I suspect that like me you have had ‘other’ lives as a nature spirit and she’s found you because she is a friend from these times, they seem to be able to do that if you’re connected to each other, in that respect the gold dust feels like a greeting for long lost friends. There are some exercises to connect on site – they might be worth trying. Have fun.

Hi Lucy, everyone is different. It depends on your sensitivity and ‘past’ experiences. There are pages here with exercises and advice on contacting and communicating with nature spirits if you want to try.
I belive in faeries and I have seen lots. I am only 9 and me and my best friend even see them at school on the oval. Your website is great!!!
One faerie I saw was wearing a white dress like an angel. She had blond long hair and tiny white flowers in her hair. She was very beautiful. I stepped forward, she looked at me suddenly and flew away!!! I would like to see her again. Your websites cool!

I’m not sure i think its only me that believes in fairies. Me and my best friend are the only ones in our class that believe in faery’s. But i think some people are to scared to say they believe in faery’s.
Until I found this site i thought me and my friend were the only ones that could see faery’s but all these people have told there encounters and i believe they are telling the truth like Lisa.g and Lisa.a (the name Lisa must have something to do with faery’s) but i guess different people have different belief’s.
Jordan you are very astute for 9 years old. The name Lisa comes from the name Elizabeth and means “a gift from God” or one that bows to God”. I learned a long time ago it’s not what you see or believe in, It’s how you react to what you have experienced.
Hi, I’m not sure… but I had bought this lamp about a year ago and one day I was cleaning it and I had noticed what seemed to be wings stuck to it, I thought to myself almost instantly fairy wings. Now is it possible that they could lose their wings?
Another encounter i had with a faery i didn’t notice until i focused. Walking across the road to the creek near my house in Australia, i walked past this plant i hadn’t seen before. It was a dark purple flower and there was only one flower. I looked at it carefully and suddenly i realised a face was staring at me! it noticed to and the face and the plant vanished into thin air. That was first time i saw a faery i thought it was my imagination until i started seeing more faery’s. I haven’t told my mum and dad i see faery’s. I have believed in faery’s ever since i was born. I have tons of books on faery’s and the world of the fae and want to write my own book about them. I know lots of types of faery’s for example salamanders, feylings, sylphs, mermaids, storm faery’s and fairy trees. Please reply thanks. Jordan a faery believer.
Hi Jordan, I’ve written more at the bottom of the page above on beliefs and made it easier for you to find other pages here that mention fairies. I used to take people on ‘nature spirit’ walks to get in touch with nature spirits and in our ‘explorations’ many people had BEEN a nature spirit themselves. This is why some people have very strong connections to nature spirits and others to angels for example.
Thank u for doing that. What country do u live in?I live in Australia. Many people say faery’s only live in England. At our school we have a pond and i saw this splash in the water (its been raining a lot the past couple of days) and I saw this little person with webbed wings. I think its a undine because it didn’t have a tail like a mermaid. Do u think I’m a nature spirit? Anyway there are not just nature spirit there are also water, air and fire spirits to. For example I am a water elemental, but I’m a summer stardust spirit. So maybe some people might be a different spirit.
Hi Jordan, I’ve been many different nature spirits, but mostly just the ones connected with the earth. Click on the Fairy Fae Faeries word and then click on; “The Little People and Nature Spirits introduced” to understand more. I’m in the UK, although I’ve lived in Brasil. Nature spirits in Brasil where in places Europeans lived. So, Australia would have areas of nature spirits too although as I have not been there I don’t know what it’s like.
OH! there’s all types of faery’s here. Slphs, pixies, mermaids all kinds!!! if u came to Aus you’d see heaps!!!! I’ve got a pet brownie finigun and a undine living in my pond !!!! I am so thrilled that other people see faery’s !!!!!BYE!!!!
I saw a faery today. She was sitting on a bird. She seemed to have wings. I went though one of my faery books and it said the faery was a air feyling. She was wearing a blue dress no shoes and had blond hair just like the picture!!! It also said they spend time with feathered kind because they have no wings.
THE POND DRIED UP AT SCHOOL!!!!! Lucky it started raining after school. I hope the faery didn’t get hurt while the water flushed down the drain and we’re in a drought to so in hard for water faery’s to find water. Please get back to me.
Hi Jordan, I wouldn’t worry they are not ‘physical’ beings so they will follow the water underground as it shrinks and then follow it back out when more comes. They’ll be OK.

Hi Jordan, when I added to the page and put new titles the search engines change. I’ll write ‘encounters’ in a title somewhere and that should have my page come back. But use ‘Encounters with real fairy’s’ ‘real’. Or ask someone how to ‘bookmark’ web sites on your computer then you wont need to search for it again?
My dog was chasing this thing outside, I walked up to my dog and she was chasing a faery! I grabbed my dog and dragged her away letting the little faery fly away. When it was flying away it seemed as if she waving to me! I waved back and she vanished! What happened?
Hay I am Sarah, Jordan’s friend. I have been looking for this site for ages!! I am glad I found it and it is good to talk to find someone who believes in fairies too. I have built a fairy house in my garden under some trees and today I found out that the fairies had come and replied to my note I left in there for them and left another note instead. Then when I looked at the back I saw that they had left me a little toy dog!! So I wrote back again and did up the house. From Sarah!

It has a flower next to it that Jorden said is a fairy flower because it is a white daisy growing on a purple daisy bush which is quite wierd! I want your advice on how to treat it well. Wow! I want to meet fairies too. but how can i? Is there a way to attract them or do they only show up near bush-lands. I live in a quiet, peaceful area, but it is not near a bushy place.

Oh no!!! I read the What to do NOW? and I don’t live ANYWHERE near bushland. What do I do? Do ALL fairies live in bushlands? and one more question Clive…how is it that you see these creatures.eg.dragons and yet many have NEVER seen one before? Are there really few left in the world? Sorry about SOOO many questions. Before you answer these questions…are you making up about seeing these creatures or is it real? Because I don’t want to feel weird about talking to nobody when I’m outside.

Well there was a table a chair a swing a slide a veggie patch and a garden chair and the other day i found $1 in the house! Its really easy to make a faery house. Just get some sticks, leafs and stones and put them together. Mine is sorta like a tipey. I’ve put 4 sticks into the ground at the top I got these really big leaves and put them over the top, then i got some bark and put them on the sides. see it sounds complicated but it isn’t.
No money today, but everything moved again. I wonder why… maybe they just don’t like it that way or maybe they want it to look better but it looks pretty good to me. Its been raining a lot these days and all the new sprouting grass i read somewhere that they eat it. So I picked some of it and its all gone!!! They must really like that stuff! Hay Xarii I haven’t heard from Clive for a long time i wonder what’s wrong.if something is wrong of course!

Yeah I’ve been looking through all your pages on this site it’s been great. I can’t get on the computer much on Wednesdays I have netball practise. So anyway I’ve seen lots of water spirits in my creek (its been raining so much the water restrictions have ended!) I sometimes see them playing with frogs, it’s really cool watching them. Do you get that sort of thing in the UK?

She had roses in her golden hair and a gorgeous little face. She waved at us. It was on the beach. Me and Rikki live in Australia by the gold coast. It was amazing xxxx
Hi again x Today at the mall befor me and Rikki went swimming we were looking at fairy statues. We went into the store to buy one. And my boyfriend came in and asked us what we were buying. I shoved the statue behind my back and said “Ohhh, Nothing!” I then felt that statue slipping out of my hands so i turned around and saw it on the counter! I saw a little smiley thing pop out behind it! It was the same fairy as yesterday x!!!! Please replyy x!!!!:D::P
Hey kat is the faery a jewel faery? one of your friends may a lot of jewels, crystals or jewellery. That might be why sapphire is friends with your friends.
